Hunting Safety Reminders

  1. Never hang a treestand unless it's certified to TMA standards.
  2. Never hang or hunt from a homemade treestand.
  3. Before hanging treestands, be sure to examine all straps, bolts, chains and other critical parts for wear.
  4. Tighten all bolts and nuts checking them closely.
  5. Examine the treestand's platform for cracks or other damage.
  6. Remove any dirt, mud or oil from dangerous, slippery areas.
  7. Never climb a tree without the use of a harness certified to TMA standards.
  8. Always use the proper Lineman's Climbing Strap when hanging ladder sticks or treestands.
  9. Whether hunting or hanging treestands, stay connected to the tree from the moment you leave the ground until you return.
  10. Always follow treestand and harness manufacturers' instructions fully.
