Hunting Safety Reminders
- Never hang a treestand unless it's certified to TMA standards.
- Never hang or hunt from a homemade treestand.
- Before hanging treestands, be sure to examine all straps, bolts, chains and other critical parts for wear.
- Tighten all bolts and nuts checking them closely.
- Examine the treestand's platform for cracks or other damage.
- Remove any dirt, mud or oil from dangerous, slippery areas.
- Never climb a tree without the use of a harness certified to TMA standards.
- Always use the proper Lineman's Climbing Strap when hanging ladder sticks or treestands.
- Whether hunting or hanging treestands, stay connected to the tree from the moment you leave the ground until you return.
- Always follow treestand and harness manufacturers' instructions fully.
