From a very early age, Heath Painter was flinging arrows. With each arrow shot, Heath’s passion for archery grew larger & larger. By the time Heath was in high school, he had already won numerous archery awards and had a few trophy bucks hanging on the wall. If Heath wasn’t shooting his bow in the back yard, he was scouting for whitetail season.

After graduating from high school, Heath joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served his country with a three year tour in Maine and then a year in Kodiak Alaska. Working saving lives when he had to, and he fished, hunted, and honed his archery skills every chance he got.

While in the Guard, Heath picked up a camera and quickly fell in love with taking photos. With his outdoor passion already in place, photography was a perfect match. With each snap of the shutter, landscapes, wildlife, and hunt scenes started to develop…and so did direction for Heath’s life. Heath finally knew where his career was leading him. After the Coast Guard, Heath signed up for photography school at the Ohio Institute for Photography and studied commercial photography & lighting. With a strong hold on still cameras, He transferred to North Carolina School of the Arts and studied Motion Picture film and film production giving him that much more foundation. If it was a camera, still or a movie camera, Heath could run it and get the shots that count.

One day while he was working on a huge movie set, Heath noticed his career leading him in a direction away from his outdoor passion….. With a bright idea, and a phone call to David Blanton at Realtree, Heath was back on track. David gave Heath a job working with Realtree as a freelance cameraman….and Heath was off & rolling. With a great foundation and God’s blessings, Heath found his place in the outdoor industry.
