Hunter Safety System

Q: Why should I consider purchasing the Hunter Safety System?

A: The HSS Design has changed how hunters view safety harnesses. This safety system has become the safest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-use harness on the market- bar none.

Q: What makes the Hunter Safety System safer than other harnesses?

A: There are several answers: however, the main one is the ease with which it goes on and the comfort factor while wearing it. Because of this, hunters are more likely to use the Hunter Safety System instead of leaving their harness at home or in the truck.

Q: What are some of the features of the Hunter Safety System?

A: Rather than covering pockets like other harnesses, HSS gives you as many as 6 pockets, quick-snap buckles which eliminate any dangling straps that might interfere with a bow string, a deer drag on most models, and a tether designed to cushion the sudden stop associated with a fall.

Q: Is this the safety harness being shown so often on television and magazines?

A: Yes, Hunter Safety System, Inc. is spending over one-half million dollars to tell hunters that they now have a quick, easy, and comfortable way to stay safe while hunting from treestands.

Q: Is it difficult to learn everything about the Hunter Safety System?

A: No, there are three sets of instructions included with every safety system. Two of these are written instructions with photos, and one is complete on DVD. Anyone can use the HSS harness within seconds of viewing these instructions.

Q: Is it really important that hunters wear the Hunter Safety System?

A: Yes. According to two studies in recent years, five times more hunters die from treestand falls than from gunshots. Additionally, this study showed that hunters are more likely to wear a Hunter Safety System harness because it is easy to use and so convenient to put on and take off.

Q: Does the Hunter Safety System offer any accessories that aid hunters any further?

A: Absolutely! HSS offers a Lineman's Style Climbing Belt that allows for hands-free operation when hanging treestands, a Life Line, which keeps the hunter connected to the tree from the moment he/she leaves the ground to the moment of return, and the Quick- Connect Tree Strap, which allows quick, quiet connections to the tree.

Q: What is the difference between the Reversible vest and the Bowhunter?

A: The Reversible has camouflage on one side and reverses to blaze orange. The Bowhunter is strictly a camouflage safety system.

Q: What is the warranty on the Hunter Safety System Vest/Harness?

A: The harness is warranted to 300 lbs. and should be replaced after five years or a fall arrest.

Q: Do I have to purchase a new safety system if I fall?

A: No. Call the Hunter Safety System office and ask for a RA Number. That way, you can return it, and a new harness will be installed into the vest for a nominal fee.

Q: What is the difference between the original Hunter Safety System and the Tree Stalker?

A: The Tree Stalker was designed primarily for the budget-conscious hunter who wants a TMA Certified System. It has smaller pockets and no inner liner.

Q: Is the Hunter Safety System washable?

A: Yes. We recommend that it be hand washed and line dried.

Q: How long is the tree strap?

A: The tree strap is 64-inch long. Longer straps can be custom ordered by calling the HSS office at (256)773-7732.

Q: What is the silver strap or 1" black strap that came with my safety system?

A: That is the deer drag/suspension relief strap and should never be used as a safety strap. It can be used for dragging game out of the woods or to relieve suspension trauma after a fall.

Q: Why is the tether folded like it is and sewn?

A: Those folds tear out in the event of a fall and help cushion the impact of the sudden stop.
